Expedited Payment Program Update – April 6, 2025

Nearly everyone in the Expedited Payment Program has been paid at this point. The last FIFO Group to be paid (Group 6) should get their payments by FedEx in mid to late May. Check your email often for aa shipping date and tracking number.

If you do your banking with a firm that specializes in online banking such as USAA, CHIME, SoFi, ally, CIT Bank or others, you may run into difficulties in depositing or cashing your 3M settlement check. These banks have their own policies regarding large checks, written on out-of-state banks.

You should speak to their customer service department now, before your check arrives to minimize any problems. Let them know that the check will be coming from Bank First in Nashville, TN and the approximate amount. Seek their advice in how best to proceed and avoid problems.

In some cases, you may want to consider opening a checking account now at a traditional brick and mortar bank with local branches in your area. Speak to the manager about the settlement payment and seek their advice.

Deferred Payment Program (DPP) Update – April 7, 2025

Clients with more significant injuries opted to receive payment on a deferred basis, allowing them to qualify for larger settlements. The Settlement Administrator has been calculating injury points based on the documentation we submitted from your hearing tests. These injury points will be used to determine the total amount of your compensation.

For the majority of Shunnarah Vail clients, these injury points have been posted on the portal at: www.CombatArmsSettlement.com

Log in, then go to “Claimant Details” and look in the document folder. You should see your injury points there.

Unfortunately, we are still waiting to learn the financial value of each injury point and an exact payment schedule. It looks like payments will begin in October 2025. More details soon.
